{"id":7395,"date":"2020-05-14T12:04:46","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T11:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/londonwelsh.org\/it-could-be-christmas-day\/"},"modified":"2020-05-14T12:04:46","modified_gmt":"2020-05-14T11:04:46","slug":"it-could-be-christmas-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/londonwelsh.org\/cy\/it-could-be-christmas-day\/","title":{"rendered":"DYLAN DAY PROJECT: It could be Christmas Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Body\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">It could be Christmas Day<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">It could be Christmas Day:<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">streets deserted, people in their homes.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">But the holly berries are gone and <o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">daffodils shine yellow in the grass.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">The air doesn\u2019t crackle with December frost,<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">but with foreboding.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\"><o_p>\u00a0<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Those who greet each other <o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">keep their distance.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Hands remain unshaken:<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">no hugs or Christmas kisses<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">under mistletoe.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">The virus has cleared the pubs.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\"><o_p>\u00a0<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">There\u2019s been no tinsel or celebration.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">No shoppers seeking fripperies,<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">but only bread and toilet rolls.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">No lusty carols sung or lessons read<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">about goodwill to fellow men.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\"><o_p>\u00a0<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Instead there\u2019s real goodwill,<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">expressed by acts of kindness and concern.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">People help each other: <o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">goodness is revealed<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">by common cause of being human.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\"><o_p>\u00a0<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Viruses do not discriminate <o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">on grounds of race or creed:<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">to them we are one tribe.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\"><o_p>\u00a0<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">This day, more than any Christmastide,<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">the message of goodwill to all rings clear. <o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\"><o_p>\u00a0<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;\">Jonathan Haydn-Williams<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;\">19\/03\/20<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It could be Christmas Day It could be Christmas Day: streets deserted, people in their homes.
