Unveiling the Real Gareth Jones: A Journey Beyond the Myths

Unveiling the Real Gareth Jones: A Journey Beyond the Myths

Tuesday 27th February
Tickets £6
Start Time:  7pm

In recent years the investigative journalist Gareth Jones has emerged as one of Wales’ greatest heroes. Brilliant linguist and fearless traveller, he became Foreign Affairs Adviser to Lloyd George, flew with Hitler and Goebbels, exposed the Great Soviet Famine of 1932/33 before meeting his death at the hands of bandits in Inner Mongolia in 1935. All this before he reached the age of 30. Thanks to the Ukrainian film Mr Jones a myth has now grown up around his life. Tonight Jones’ great nephew and literary executor Philip Colley, using rare images and film, will reveal his true story, one even more incredible than that seen on screen.
