An evening of poetry and prose with Mike Parker and Hanan Issa

Mike Parker and Hanan Issa at the London Welsh Centre

Join us for an exciting evening of music and poetry with writer Mike Parker and National Poet of Wales Hanan Issa at the London Welsh Centre! Mike will be reading from his latest book All the Wide Border: Wales, England and the Places Between, named by Waterstones as one of the ten best travel books of the year. Jesse Armstrong, creator of Succession, said “I loved this book. Mike Parker weaves together a great deal of wide reading, hard thinking and soulful tramping in his funny, thoughtful and evocative investigation of the Welsh–English border.”

Hanan will be reading from My Body Can House Two Hearts, of which the newly elected Archdruid Mererid Hopwood says, ‘this unique Collection shows that Welsh, Arabic and English flow side by side and sometimes share the same waters.’

This wonderful opportunity to hear Mike and Hanan together promises to be a thought provoking, humorous and uplifting evening. Sioned Wiliam will be moderating.
