UNDER MILK WOOD
A very Welsh production by The Eastcastle PlayersEglwys Gymraeg Canol Llundain30 Eastcastle Street, London W1W 8DJ
Friday 20 November 2026 | 7:00pmTickets: £10Please note: this performance is taking place at Eglwys Gymraeg Canol Llundain (Eastcastle Welsh Baptist Chapel), NOT at the centre.

The Eastcastle Players present a very Welsh production of Dylan Thomas’ much-loved UNDER MILK WOOD, performed in the original English.
Step into the world of Llareggub and experience Dylan Thomas’ extraordinary Play for Voices – a funny, tender and beautifully poetic portrait of a small Welsh town and its colourful inhabitants.

There is a special connection between Dylan Thomas and Fitzrovia. Thomas spent much of the 1940s and early 1950s in the area, working for the BBC while writing poetry, stories and developing the work that would become Under Milk Wood. Just a short walk from our venue, at the Wheatsheaf Public House on Rathbone Place, he met his future wife, Caitlin Macnamara.

Now, more than 70 years later, Dylan Thomas returns to Fitzrovia.
Our 2026 autumn production brings this captivating work to life with an all-Welsh cast, including Trefor Ellis, Dylan Thomas’ son-in-law, in a leading role.

A performance with a purpose
All proceeds from this performance will be donated to St Mungo’s, supporting their work with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Come and enjoy an evening of Welsh voices, poetry, humour and storytelling – in the very heart of Fitzrovia.
