Grew up on a farm in Mid Wales not realising you were brown until embarrassingly late? Replaced as your parents’ favourite child by a Labrador? Stole a croissant from Hugh Jackman whilst looking him dead in the crotch? Just me? Cool.
Mel Owen, dubbed ‘Wales’ most exciting new act’ brings her sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show home to the London Welsh Centre. With the Scotsman pinning her as ‘one to watch’ and the Ed Fringe Review applauding her as ‘obviously multi-talented’, this show is not to be missed.
Mel has spent 2024 touring as support for Welsh comedy stars Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Elis James, as well as performing sell-out shows in Machynlleth Comedy Festival and Aberystwyth Comedy Festival. In May 2024 Mel performed at the Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival in Los Angeles and is set to return in 2025.
Mel is a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4’s comedy features, and is a regular panellist on BBC Wales’ satirical panel show What Just Happened. She has writing credits on Channel 4, BBC Three, Radio Wales and recently Netflix.
