15 Nov: London Jazz Festival: Awen Ensemble & CyVanma CynVamol

This event is part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2026

Awen Ensemble are an alternative folk-jazz outfit. Meaning ‘poetic inspiration’ in Welsh, the name Awen outlines the band’s intention to explore folkloric heritage, landscape and emotional processes through music, inspiring audiences to connect with and reflect on these elements. Playing both vocal led and instrumental works, Awen Ensemble take inspiration from modal and spiritual jazz traditions as well as British and Irish folk music, creating compositions that are expansive and expressive. Featuring thoughtful musicianship, shimmering instrumentation and a Celtic mystique, Awen Ensemble bring a unique offering to the table.

CyVanma CynVamol is a collaborative trio between welsh Vocalist Emma Davidson, North Walian bass player Huw V Williams and honourary welsh flautist Gail Tasker, expect drones and explorations, a modern intrepretation of Welsh identity.
